Circumcision
About circumcision:
Circumcision is removal of loose skin covering the head (glans) of the penis, known as foreskin. Circumcision is performed for medical and social or religious reasons. The medical reasons include a tight foreskin leading to redness, pain or difficulty in urination and ballooning of foreskin, scarring of foreskin or for children at risk for urinary tract infection in infancy. There are also social or religious reasons for which circumcision is performed.
As per the Queensland health directive, only medical indications for circumcision can be performed in the public hospital and placed on a public waitlist. Circumcision for medical, social or religious reasons can be performed in the private hospital by Dr Krishnan.
Circumcision is a day stay procedure which is performed under a general anaesthetic. Dr Krishnan will be happy to discuss the procedure and provide you with further information.
